A Day With Waffles The Cat

Dear Diary,

It's me, Waffles.

It's been almost 4 years since I've been studying mommy, daddy, and their friends.

I've been trying to be as sneaky as possible as I learn about people.

But alas, they are much smarter than I thought and I have been caught spying many times.

They have interesting customs and things called "holidays"? What is Halloween? Why would I want to be a rabbit when I am clearly a cat.

And why does everyone gather to watch The Superbowl? The only good part was when that bird flew onto the field.

Sometimes I get tired of all these occasions and just need to close my eyes and take a break.

A while back, daddy brought friends to visit, including a strange cat that can't seem to meow. Much to learn about this one...

My younger brother is a silly big dog. I am not sure from where, but he seems to watch my every move.

I don't get it...I'm not sure why he still doesn't want to cuddle.

I've been trying to teach my parents my daily customs, simple ones like grooming, but they refuse to catch on.

Frankly, I'm bewildered by the way they clean themselves. It does not seem to be effective.

People are smart, they learned that whenever I show my tummy they should give me scratches and warm pillows to rest on.

And most importantly, they are entertained easily, which is the best way for me to receive presents.

Dear diary - I've learned a lot today, it's time to hunker down for a nice long nap. Stay safe everyone!
